Once a student passes AAD 757: Arts Administration Qualifying Examination, they must maintain continuous enrollment in AAD 767: Dissertation Residency Hours. Students are required to enroll in AAD 767 until the student has passed the Final Doctoral Examination.
AAD 767: Dissertation Research – Grading Policy Statement
AAD 767 is graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) basis to reflect students’ progress toward dissertation completion. A grade of Satisfactory (S) indicates that the student is making appropriate progress in their research and meeting the expectations of the course.
To earn a Satisfactory grade in AAD 767, students must:
Submit all required progress reports as outlined in the course schedule.
Attend and document regular meetings with their dissertation advisor.
Complete any additional assignments or milestones as described in the Canvas course site.
Failure to complete these requirements will result in an Unsatisfactory (U) grade for the semester.
Students who receive two consecutive semesters of Unsatisfactory grades in AAD 767 may be subject to dismissal from the program, in accordance with departmental and graduate school policies.
There are two sections of AAD 767:
Students enrolled in AAD 767, Part A are working on their research and writing. There are three incorporated status reports and advisor meetings. Additionally, there is an end-of-semester status update to the Department of Arts Administration required. Students will continually be enrolled in AAD 767, Part A until their dissertation is in full draft form and ready for committee review.
Students enrolled in AAD 767, Part B are completing the university requirements for the dissertation. There is no research and writing time in Part B.
