The UK Department of Arts Administration Internship Database compiles years of arts administration internship infomation. The database is a work-in-progress and should not be considered a complete catalog of all internships. If you have internship information you would like to add, please send it to artsadminstration@uky.edu.
All students in the MA of Arts Administration are required to complete 3-credit hours of internship by enrolling in AAD 699: Arts Administration Internship unless they are approved for an internship exemption.
Each credit hour of the internship is equal to 50 working hours (3 credit hours x 50 = 150 internship work hours).
The internship must be completed at a nonprofit arts organization.
The learning contract MUST be completed and signed by all parties before the first hour of work is completed. Once a student is offered an internship, they can complete the learning contract which will be forwarded to the following people for signature and/or comment:

MA Students who have significant field experience may qualify for an internship exemption. If you are exempt from completing a 3.0 credit hour internship, you will be able to take an additional elective in its place. The Director of Graduate Studies and Department Chair must approve your internship exemption request.
