This list below provides brief descriptions of some of the many support services available to you. If you have need of a special service that is not described below, consult the University Advising Student Resources website or discuss with your academic advisor. Every effort will be made to connect you with the appropriate service.

The Academic Success Center offers a variety of services to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to achieve academic and personal success. They offer academic coaching, success courses, and instruction on test prep, reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills.
The BSI program offers ASL coaching provided by deaf native users of ASL. These professional tutors help students practice their ASL skills and give feedback on homework assignments. To sign up for appointments, visit the NTID Scheduling System.
The College Restoration Program is a specialized academic intervention program based on the belief that a student's academic performance is the result of more than native intelligence. Students in serious academic difficulty can significantly improve their performance with appropriate training and support.
RIT’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) provides confidential and personalized services to meet the mental health needs of RIT students. CaPS offers many services, among which are personal and career counseling; alcohol/drug assessment, referral, and educational services; and rape education and counseling. The Diversity Outreach Committee’s (DOC) mission is to bridge the gap between the Interpreting & NTID’s Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing/Deaf-Blind AALANA communities. They provide educational opportunities that incorporate principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and community. They strive to create a space where AALANA community members can freely express their feelings, develop their identities, and ultimately cultivate a sense of belonging.
The Disability Services Office ensures access to educational programs by reviewing documentation of disabilities, approving accommodations, referring students to appropriate campus services, and serving as a resource. For more information call 585-475-2023.

The English Language Center offers courses of study of English as a second language to non-native speakers on a full-time and a part-time basis. Program offerings include conversation, grammar, writing, vocabulary, reading, presentation skills, business communication, and TOEFL preparation. For more information call 585-475-6684.
The New York State Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) is committed to the recruitment and academic success of historically disadvantaged students with strong academic potential and personal initiative who would otherwise be excluded from higher education at a private New York state college or university. The program provides financial, academic, and personal support to maximize student success. HEOP and its activities are supported, in whole or in part, by the New York State Education Department.
MOCHA is a one-year program that provides personal, academic, cultural, social, professional, and leadership development to undergraduate males at RIT, in an effort to positively impact academic success, increase retention, and develop successful leaders of tomorrow, today.
The Multicultural Center for Academic Success provides services and develops initiatives to enhance the student experience of AALANA (African, Latin, and Native American) RIT students. It provides personal advising, advocacy, scholarships, leadership development opportunities, diversity education, cultural programming, and a connection to campus and community resources. The NTID Learning Center (NLC) resources include a photocopier/printer/scanner; Windows and Mac computers with webcams; study lounge area; group study areas; and a Video Lab Studio. Students can borrow laptop computers, headphones, and phone chargers from the NLC Resource Desk.
The Office of Veteran Student Success is a community of support services for military affiliated students, including certifying military education benefits.

Spirituality & Religious Life’s campus ministers for various religious traditions are available for religious services, personal counseling, and many program activities. For more information call 585-475-2135.
The Student Health Center, staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, an interpreter for the deaf, and a health educator, provides primary medical care on an out-patient basis. You may be seen on a walk-in basis during designated hours Monday through Friday—except for allergy, psychiatric, and gynecological services, which are available by appointment. RIT Global offers many opportunities for RIT/NTID students to study in other countries. They also offer a special study abroad option for sign language interpreting students. The Siena School in Italy offers a multi-week program which provides instruction in spoken Italian and Italian Sign Language and Italian Deaf Culture.
Wallace Memorial Library provides information in many forms, including print, DVDs, compact discs, electronic books, microfilm, and microfiche. An online computer catalog, online searching capabilities, and interlibrary loan provide access to virtually all publicly available material. Reference librarians are on duty during the week and on weekends to assist in the use of these resources. For more information call 585-475-2562.
