You will use our online BSI ASL Tutors appointment system to schedule your appointment.
Individual appointments are limited to 30 minutes. If no one signs up for the slot after you, you may stay longer, but you may not sign up in advance for more than 30 minutes.
Group appointments are limited to 1 hour.
Group appointments for live interpreting practice are limited to 90 minutes.
To make, modify, or cancel a tutoring appointment, visit https://apps.ntid.rit.edu/Scheduling/.
Answer the questions and log in with your RIT username (do not include @rit.edu).
Under WELCOME, YourName on the left side of the screen, you will see a link for My Appointments (if you have existing appointments).
Choose the appropriate schedule.
For feedback from a Deaf tutor on ASL skills, choose the BSI ASL Tutors schedule.
Click the calendar icon to to the right of “NEXT WEEK” to navigate to a date.
Click in a white time slot to create a new appointment with the date and tutor of your choice.
Choose the end time for your appointment.
a. If you are making an individual appointment, leave the default end time (30 minutes after the start time).
b. If you are making a group appointment, change the end time to 60 minutes.
c. If you are making an appointment for live interpreting practice, change the end time to 90 minutes.
Enter the Course for which you are seeking tutor help.
Choose your Instructor from the drop-down list.
Choose your Appointment Type from the drop-down list.
Enter the first and last names of other group members. If this is a 30-minute individual appointment, enter “none.”
Choose Appointment Purpose.
Check which areas you would like feedback on.
It will greatly help the tutor prepare for your appointment if you attach files with assignment information, such as English scripts and the homework instructions.
Click Create Appointment.
At the bottom of the View Existing Appointment window, choose Close Window.
The time slot you reserved will change color in the schedule.
You will later receive an email confirming that you have successfully made an appointment.
Log in to the NTID Scheduling System.
Under WELCOME, YourName, click on the appointment you wish to modify.
Click the blue Edit Appointment button at the bottom of the window.
Make the desired changes.
Click the blue Save Changes button at the bottom of the window.
You will later receive an email confirming that you have successfully modified an appointment.
You are expected to cancel unneeded appointments with as much advance notice as possible so your fellow students may have access to that time slot. This includes both individual and group appointments.
Log in to the NTID Scheduling System.
Under WELCOME, YourName, click on the appointment you wish to cancel.
Click the red Cancel Appointment button at the bottom of the window.
Click OK to confirm cancellation.
You will later receive an email confirming that you have successfully cancelled an appointment.
The tutoring location is indicated next to the tutor’s name and in the Appointment window next to Location.
In-person tutoring is held in the ASL Learning Center (LBJ 3205).
To join a Zoom tutoring appointment, open your appointment and click the tutor’s Zoom meeting ID link next to Location.
To be notified of a newly available appointment, click on the Waiting List link that appears at the bottom right of each day on the schedule. Enter your information in the Waiting List window and click Add to Waiting List. If you opted in to text messaging when you registered for the NTID Scheduling System, you will receive a text message when there is a cancellation that has opened up the date.
