Our Mission: At St. Laurent School, we are dedicated to supporting every student’s academic and personal growth. Our Guidance Department is committed to providing comprehensive support services to help our students thrive in school and beyond.
Our Team:
Tracy Drimes: K - 6 Guidance, available every other day, focusing on class-based guidance, limited small group sessions, and one on one
Sheena Morsette: Guidance for grades 6/7 and 8, offering a mix of classroom lessons, one-on-one counseling, and small group sessions.
Shane Buck: Guidance for grades 9 - 12, facilitating requested lessons and concentrating on small group and individual counseling. Also serves as our Career Counselor, assisting with university admissions and course planning.
Services Offered:
Academic Advising: Helping students understand and meet school expectations, discussing course selections, and planning for post-secondary education.
Personal Counseling: Providing support for personal or social issues students may face, offering a confidential and safe space to discuss sensitive matters.
Career Planning: Assisting students with exploring potential career paths, providing resources for job shadowing, internships, and college applications.
Conflict Resolution: Aiding students in resolving conflicts with peers or teachers, fostering a respectful and productive school environment.
Group Workshops: Offering workshops on topics such as stress management, study skills, and peer relationships.
Special Programs:
College Prep Workshops: Guidance on college application processes, including essay writing and preparing for college entrance exams.
Bullying Prevention: Initiatives and support systems to address and prevent bullying within the school.
Mental Health Support: Programs and referrals to address mental health issues, including anxiety and depression.
