Appreciation for Government Funding for Our Nutrition Program

St. Laurent School is incredibly grateful for the support and funding we have received from the government to launch our new nutrition program. This generous contribution will allow us to ensure that every student has access to healthy and nutritious food throughout the school day, promoting better learning outcomes and overall well-being.

St. Laurent School’s New Nutrition Program

Our new nutrition program at St. Laurent School will provide students with daily access to nutritious food options through a convenient, well-organized system designed to fit seamlessly into the school day. With an emphasis on ease, efficiency, and accessibility, the program will ensure that every student has the fuel they need to succeed both academically and physically.

How the Program Works:

Bus Unloading & Grab-and-Go System:
Each morning, students arriving by bus will be unloaded one bus at a time to avoid congestion and ensure a smooth, organized start to the day. As students step off the bus, they will head straight to the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), where they can quickly pick up a nutritious breakfast snack from our "Grab-and-Go" station. This station will offer a variety of healthy food items such as fruit, granola bars, yogurt, cheese, toast, and more. The goal is to provide students with something to eat as they start their day, whether they’ve had breakfast at home or not.

Accessible for All Students:
While the Grab-and-Go station will cater primarily to those arriving by bus, all students will have access to the program. Students who walk or are dropped off by their parents will be invited to stop by the Office as well to grab a snack before heading to class. This ensures every student is included in our nutrition program, regardless of how they get to school.

Why a Nutrition Program?
Research has shown that students who have access to regular, healthy meals are better equipped to focus, learn, and perform well in school. By introducing this program, we aim to support students’ physical health and cognitive development, helping them to be more engaged and successful in the classroom.

Gratitude for the Funding Support:
This program would not have been possible without the generous funding provided by the government. Their support has allowed us to take significant steps toward ensuring that all of our students have access to nutritious food throughout the day, making a lasting impact on their health and educational outcomes.

The new nutrition program is an exciting step for St. Laurent School, and we look forward to seeing the benefits it will bring to our students and the wider school community.
