Identify the persons who play a key role in the relationship and interactions in the classrooms. What roles do they play? Is there somebody who appears to be the leader, a mascot/joker, an attention seeker, a little teacher, and a doubter/pessimist?
The eldest learner in the class is both a leader and a teacher. He usually helps his younger classmates with their assignments. There is also a joker/attention seeker in class who always finds a way to get the attention of all but can also make the mood light since he will do something that can make the class burst into laughter.
What makes the learners assume these roles? What factors affect their behavior?
Perhaps their ages and experiences are different. They are mature enough to possess these characteristics.
2. Is there anyone you observed who appears left out? Are students who appear “different”? Who do they appear different? Are they accepted or rejected by others? How is this shown?
There is someone in the class who seem to be left out not because her classmates do not include her in whatever they do but because she opted not to join. She always napping and doesn’t join the fun with her classmates.
What does the teacher do to address issues like this?
She just let her be because the teacher already tried to talk with her but she does not listen. The teacher has also address the issue with the parents but the parents said that just let their child be since she’s that kind even in their own home.
3. How does the teacher influence the class interaction considering the individual differences of the students?
By letting them complete tasks in groups. The teachers require them to participate in class and by letting them answer on the board.
4. What strategies does the teacher use to maximize the benefits of diversity in the classroom? How does the teacher leverage diversity?
By not addressing the issue each learner has in front of the class. Their lapses and lacks are being addressed privately to not embarrass them.
How did you feel being in that classroom? Did you feel a sense of oneness or unity among the learners and between the teachers and the learners?
Yes, we can feel warmth every time we witness a touching moment. There’s one time where one of their classmates does not have anything to eat for lunch, so his classmates decided to gather together food for him. It is something that you couldn’t witness every day, especially at a young age. So, yes, definitely we feel oneness and unity among them.
