This week's schedule....
October 14-18 -- Practice:
Meet at 2:30 in the hall by the small gym to change in the locker room. We will meet here each day to change and meet as a team before our workout.
Schedule:
Monday: still fall break...check out last week's schedule for what you should still be doing.
Tuesday: 2:30-4:00 -- moderately long run
Wednesday: 2:30-4:00 -- WORKOUT! no clubs past 2:40 -- this is our only workout of the week!
Thursday: 2:30-4:00 -- timed recovery run
Friday: 2:30-4:00 -- shakeout run and pasta dinner! Do ice baths at home!
Saturday: meet day!!
Keep an eye on Remind each day for any last minute changes! Looks like a BEAUTIFUL week but you never know.
October 14: meet day! -- Coach Wood

Runners must arrive at the school (by the tennis courts) by 7:10am. Sleep in a little...this meet starts and ends later. But it is a LONG drive and we need to allow 2 hours plus warmup. The bus LEAVES at 7:30, and we need to load the bus together. If you are late, we WILL NOT wait for you and it is a long drive!!
If your parents would like to support, we would love to have them. Please have them arrive at the park NO LATER than 30 minutes before your race..otherwise they may miss it!! We will not have seating for them...they should bring chairs. Per the organizer, Coach Wood entry is $15 per car this time, exact change appreciated. Or pay using Venmo (@MCXC) ahead...make sure to take a screenshot since there is no internet. Info about this is in the document below.

11:10am - Varsity Boys (next 8)
11:15am - 1st Awards Ceremony
11:35am - Varsity Girls

We will stop to eat afterward, but eat a good breakfast because these are late runs and really stretched out!!!
PARENTS -- super important -- if you plan to prepay for parking, do so at least 2 hours ahead, or bring cash. There is notoriously poor internet as you approach, so you can't pay online when you get there. Also...the traffic will be heavy on the way in...please allow extra time to get there or you may go a long way and miss the race. :(
WEATHER: it will be a high of 71 and low of 47...perfect running weather. It is not supposed to rain, but make sure you bring your warmup...you will need it for the cool side of it!
Please make sure you eat a good dinner the night before and breakfast before you arrive. We will have bagels and fruit for you at the meet, but this needs to be the second meal of the day. DO NOT EAT EGGS OR DRINK MILK!!! These foods are almost guaranteed to end up on the side of the course!!
We will stop on the way home for (fast food) lunch (yay!!!) so bring cash or card for that. You don't have to eat, but this is a team bonding thing that we missed out on during Covid.
If your parents want to bring you home instead, they can...but please stay to support the later runners if you are able! We are a team in all things, and everyone runs better when they are being cheered on!

What to bring (please pack your bag the day before!!!):
Uniform and running shoes (wear this so you know you have them!!!!!)
Other clothes to wear over when you are not running. Once you stop sweating you will need them!
WATER BOTTLE -- I will have a jug to refill, but you need to bring a bottle.
Snack if you don't want the bagels we are bringing.
Spikes if you plan on wearing them.
A towel (in case it rains). We run meets in the rain if there is no lightning!!!
A charger for your phone if your phone dies quickly...otherwise you will be calling from a friend's phone when we are almost home.
Money for a shirt if you want to get one. For our new runners, races often have commemorative shirts available to sell with cash or credit.
Roller...this is a good thing to keep in your running bag! Rolling your muscles can make all the difference after a meet where you went all out.
