Tinkercad is an online program used to design 3D figures, which we can then print using 3D printers.
Starting out: We begin from scratch on the Workplane.
Adding Shapes: Here, we can drag shapes such as boxes, cylinders, spheres, cones, pyramids, text, polygons, and many other forms.
Placement: You can select a shape and drag it onto the workplane.
Editing: Once it's there, you can move it and modify its dimensions (length, width, and height).
Copying: You can copy and duplicate them to save time.
Grouping: When you finish a figure made of several parts, you can group them together.
Holes: Now, we are going to learn how to use "Hole" shapes. Once you place a hole where you want it, you can group it with a solid shape—and look what happens! (A piece of the solid shape is removed).
🇬🇧
Design a model of the Arc de Triomphe, one of the most iconic monuments in Paris. This impressive arch was commissioned by Napoleon to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Austerlitz, and its construction lasted 30 years, between 1806 and 1836.
To create the model, use cubes and round roofs with the appropriate dimensions, as shown in the images below.
🇬🇧
In fact, as it can be seen in the picture on the right, this monument has two more arches on its sides. Try to add them to your design in order to improve your mark. Of course, you must consider the dimensions of the drawing below to keep the shape of the original building.
