Our facility, in collaboration with Tohoku University and Kyoto University, provides 12 neutron instruments at JRR-3 (Japan Research Reactor No. 3), which is managed by JAEA (Japan Atomic Energy Agency) in Tokai, Japan.
The experimental laboratory of JRR-3 comprises a "reactor hall", which surrounds the reactor core, and a "guide hall" (formally called as beam hall), where 3 thermal and 2 cold neutron guide tubes are implemented. Three instruments (two of which are operated by our facility and one by Tohoku University) are installed in the reactor hall and nine instruments (six of which are operated by our facility, two by Tohoku University, and one by Kyoto University) are installed in the guide hall.
Furthermore, in the J-PARC Material and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF), we provide one spectrometer in collaboration with the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK).
Below you will find basic information and links to individual web pages for each instrument. If you plan to submit a proposal, please refer to them. If you intend to use an instrument for the first time or conduct an experiment with special equipment, please contact the Leader before submitting your proposal. For an explanation of Type-A and Type-B, please refer here.
