Research Topic: Famous Greeks

Assignment: You will be researching information about a famous Greek person and putting together a presentation trying to persuade Ms. Grant and Ms. Machens that your Greek person should be crowned Greek of the Year.

Number and types of resources required: You will need to use at least three different sources. The sources you may use are listed below. Remember, to research means to look in a variety of places for information. Begin with worldbook online. Next, use the gale database-student resources in context. Use the E-book, Ancient Greeks. Find a book on the library cart in the computer lab. Finally, use the websites provided. As a last resort, surf the web for reliable sources.

Citing Sources: Remember, with world book online, databases, and e-books, the sources are cited for you. Copy and paste the citations to your notes so you remember which notes correspond with which sources. Copy the information for a book and website on the handout. Use Microsoft Office to create a works-cited page. Put Works-Cited at the top of your page. Use microsoft office to create bibliographic citations for the books and websites you use. Copy and paste your other sources to your works-cited page. Put the source citations in alphabetical order and remember to "reverse indent" the 2nd and 3rd lines.

E-Book: Ancient Greece Click on the Ancient Greece book. Using the search box on the left-hand side, type in your keyword. Your Greek hero will be found on the pages listed below your search. Click on each of these pages to find information. To cite your source, use the drop down bar next to the green Bibliographic Details. Go to citations (in orange). Find the MLA style for citing sources. Copy and paste this to your notes.
