Humanities

Why Humanities?

Despite the STEM field being my primary focus, I have a strong passion for the Social Studies, especially history. This is a large part of why I decided to take APUSH my junior year so that I could further my history knowledge through an AP course. Through this course I memorized ever president, in order plus the years they served and several facts about that (which I can still recite to this day). In addition to APUSH, I am currently enrolled in APGAP as a second AP humanities course (green highlight). These two AP courses count for my two global citizenship electives and the classes highlighted in yellow (Project English and Public Speaking) are my two english electives. Moving on to world language, I took three semesters of French which meets the language requirement but I am also interested in learning Polish but no Polish course was offered at Fairfax. For an out of class humanities experience, I have been a member of scholars bowl my junior and senior year where I often can answer many obscure questions due to my vast history and geography experiences. For all these reasons and more I believe that I am deserving of Graduation with Distinction in the Humanities.
