AP and Honors

AP AND HONORS

Students have the opportunity to take more challenging courses based on meeting criteria for Honors classes and prerequisites for Advanced Placement classes. While higher GPA and higher level coursework (i.e., Advanced Placement and Honors) can increase odds of acceptance at more competitive/impacted colleges, college prep level classes do meet the minimum requirements for admission. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves with advanced coursework while being careful not to overload themselves

HONORS
Criteria: G.A.T.E. identified in same subject and meet course prerequisites OR Earned an "A" both semesters in the subject

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP)
College Level courses taught at the high school level using prescribed curriculum supplied by the College Board Advanced Placement program.
