CREDIT RECOVERY

Students who have failed a required course for graduation will need to explore FUSD's credit recovery opportunities. If a student has exhausted all credit recovery options and still has an overwhelming number of courses to make up, alternative high school options will be recommended (e.g. Robertson Continuation High School). Note that counselors may make a recommendation as early as 2nd semester of 10th grade, to provide the student with a higher chance of earning credits toward graduating on time.

12th grade: June 5th - June 30th

Summer School Registration is now available. Your WHS counselors will be registering for you.

To confirm your registration:

Log onto your Aeries Portal
Classes > Course Registration
You should be able to see what courses are selected for you.

Counselors have selected courses based on the criteria below:

Have earned a D or F grade in a previous term
Are currently earning a D or F grade**
**This is just a precaution. Should you end the school year with a passing grade, you will not need to attend for that specific course. If you are at risk of earning (F) or (D) grade(s) this current semester, then we recommend that you reach out to your alpha assigned counselor and the counselor will sign your student up for requested courses.**
Universities typically do not assign additional weight to D grades; they are counted at standard value and may not meet admission or course requirement standards.

You believe there is an error on your selected courses
Do not see any courses listed, but believe you need to attend (either because you earned a D or F in the past or are in danger of failing this semester)

APEX

WHS offers online courses for credit recovery only. Summer School must be utilized before APEX is allowed. APEX cannot be used for advancing in subject levels or earning more credits than needed. Note that this option is in addition to a student's current course load (6 classes), and is strictly independent work; teachers are not attached to APEX courses. If credit recovery is needed, counselors may recommend 1-2 APEX courses (max per one student). If more courses are needed, a referral to Robertson High School will be recommended. Students may not take more than two APEX semester courses per academic year. Contact your student's counselor if you have questions.
