Poston Butte
Dance Concert
By: Aaliyah Orrick
On the 18th and 19th of November, the Poston Butte Dance company had their very own Disney themed Dance Concert. The stands were full of friends, family, and supporters. The dancers did extremely well, and they were all very beautiful and elegant. Each dance was choreographed by a member of the Emotion dance company, and we give a special thanks to Mrs. Arnoldi, the creator of the company. The gym was filled with beautiful lights, and beautiful music, of course, from Disney: “When Somebody Loved Me”, “What’s My Name?”, “Rose Heart”, “A Million Dreams”, “I Want It All”, and more.
I interviewed some of the beginning dancers, Stella Bock and Sedona Milem about their experience during the Dance Concert.
How was your experience dancing at the concert?
“It was so much fun. It was just like a sport; being on a team and growing/ learning from each other was amazing. Dance is what I look forward to throughout my week.”
How do you think you did, when you danced?
“I think everyone did really well, we all had a ton of motivation, and we were all working towards the same goal: to kill this dance concert.”
Which is your favorite dance?
“Besides my own dance choreographed by Mrs. Arnoldi and Jazmine our T.A., my favorites were “What’s my Name”, “I want it All'', “Spoonful of Sugar”, and “Speechless”.”
Were you nervous in front of the crowd?
“Of course we all were, but we got out there and showed everyone that we are Dedicated dancers and that we never back down.”
What was your overall experience?
“My overall experience was amazing, and I would love to do it again. The people, Mrs. Arnodi, and the feeling of being a part of a team is fantastic. It was the highlight of the semester, and I can’t wait for the next one.”
-Stella Bock

We’d like to give a shoutout to all the Emotion Dance Company officers. They did so incredibly well, and we are so proud and honored to have experienced their beautiful talent. We hope you guys have a great rest of your year.
STEM Bringing the Action
by Madalynn Visnaw
We've all seen those action movie trailers that begin with, "In a world of ..." With that, the STEM team presented to Poston Butte a series of escape rooms bringing us into a world of their own. As you made your way through 7 uniquely themed rooms, the main goal was to beat the clock. The themes included the Bombing, Zodiac, Code Breaker, Chem Lab, Kidnapping, Roswell, and Casino Heist. Although many things caught my eye, creativity was what did it for me. Despite some clues and hints being more ominous than others, I feel that by far the Kidnapping was the toughest one to beat. I went with a couple of friends, and we all had a fun time with lots of laughter. Overall, a very successful event leaving me looking forward to see just what the STEM team has in store for us next.

Tucson Dragway Jr. and High School Classes
Tuscon Dragway has drag strip racing classes for people in jr. high and high school. The junior class age group is 13-16 years old, and when you race you must be accompanied by an adult. For high school classes, it is 16-18 years old and you do not need a companion. These races are family-friendly and fun events and the new seasons are starting here in January! I have been racing here since I was 13 and would recommend it to anyone interested. For more information go to https://www.tucsondragway.com/ or look them up on Facebook for information about the classes.

Storming The Halls
By: Kimberly Cardenas Torres
At 9:15 on Friday, November 19, the marching band, StuCo students, all of the football players, color guard, and cheerleaders stormed the halls. Students were rushing out to celebrate, and some of the students started to march too. Then, the cheerleaders showed school spirit by giving us one of their cheers. The football players were also cheering. The color guard gave an amazing performance. Finally, our principal, Mr. Lopez, won the pie-eating competition. It was epic.
