Employee of the Month: Mrs. Schaefer
By Stella Bock and Autumn Meadows
“Anyone can achieve something,” says Mrs. Schaefer, and that is exactly what she did. Mrs. Schafer, the ELL teacher, achieved Employee of the Month of September at our very own Poston Butte High School.
Mrs. Schafer was born in Indiana and moved to Arizona in 1996. She’s been married for 41 years to the only person she ever dated and now has two loving adult children along with two fur babies, Sasha and Kaleb, her dogs.
Some of her favorite hobbies and interests are sewing baby quilts, fishing and cooking her favorite meal; steak tips with onions and mushrooms. But truly, Mrs. Schafer loves teaching at Poston Butte High School. She’s taught from third grade to high school; she even taught Mr. Yates how to make mac and cheese in nutrition class. Throughout all of these experiences, her favorite years to teach by far are high school.
Mrs. Schafer is an original Bronco staff member. She has been here since the beginning and loves to see how much the school has grown. “The school now has improved itself to meet the needs of all,” she stated.
Mrs. Schafer's favorite quote is “Even people who have a long record of not succeeding can be turned into tremendous achievers if they will discard their images of themselves as failures” -Norman Vincent Peale She takes this quote to heart and uses it throughout everyday life. Norman Peale believed that if you wanted to be successful and the best that you could be, that your attitude impacted you; this is what Mrs. Schafer is inspired by.

By: Stella Bock and Autumn Meadows
Delaniae Zacharae
Delaniae Zacharae is a sophomore at Poston Butte High school, who won student of the month in September. She loves both her dog and her goats. She is also a very energetic student who likes to dance and play flag football, she also runs track. Delaniae is committed to everything she signs up for. She is a hard worker who loves to have fun, especially when it comes to uno. ¨ There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.¨ - Colin Powell; this is what Delainae does in her everyday life. She edvices hard work; students should keep up their hard work and one day they too can be Student of the month.
Riley Biter
Riley Biter, the real Wonder Woman, has made Student of the Month for September, at Poston Butte High School.
Riley Biter, a Junior at our very own Poston Butte, has made Student of the Month. As the second oldest of four children, she has lived in Arizona her whole life. Riley has always been involved; she is a natural leader. Being a member of NHS, FBLA and the STEM program, she has always been a hard worker. Working hard and helping others grow is something Riley values.
Some of Riley’s favorite hobbies are reading, writing, and playing soccer. Riley is very athletic. This year she is trying out for varsity soccer and track. Sure, she is creative and athletic, but most importantly, she isn’t afraid to use her voice; one of the most powerful and brave things you can do. She has been to many marches such as the March for Science, The Women's March, March for our Lives and Black Lives Matter.
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm possible.” - Audrey Hepburn. Riley has proved that anything is possible, but not everything comes easily. After high school, she sees herself in college but is not sure of where or what major yet. “I’m giving the excuse ‘I’m too young to know what I want’ for now,” Riley stated. She went on to share that having straight A’s on every report card is something to be proud of, but the work can come with a few mental breakdowns saying, “It's ok to have breakdowns, as long as you get back up and learn from your mistakes/failures.” Riley believes that hard work, doing your best, a gracious heart, helping others, and allowing yourself a good cry once in awhile is the blueprint to becoming Student of the Month.
Brandon Garner, also a junior at Poston Butte High school, was also named Student of the Month in September.
