Set up, configure, and manage your VR headset
Manage your VR headsets by clicking on "Devices" on the left-hand panel
The headset may already be paired - if so, you will see ✅ on the screen
If you see a ❌, you will need to setup your device.
If you need to pair the headset and/or VR motion controllers click on the right-pointing arrow beside the headset, select "Device Setup", and then "Full Setup". Follow the instructions presented on the screen to finish the setup.
Rift S headset
Click on the right-pointing arrow beside Rift S, scroll down, and select "Guardian Setup". The setup consists of:
a. Defining your play area: Click on stationary boundary.
b. Defining the floor level in VR: Tab your right controller gently on the floor. The virtual grid will drop to the actual floor level and match the real environment.
Put your headset on and follow the on-screen instructions. Confirm the settings and take your headset off.
Make sure you're running the latest Oculus firmware. To update the app on the laptop, select "Library" in the left menu, then click "Updates" to check for updates.
Ensure your VR headset is powered on and connected to your laptop
Restart the Oculus app and your VR headset.
Re-pair the headset with the app if necessary.
Ensure your VR motion controllers are charged.
Oculus Rift S controllers require 2 x AA batteries.
Quest Pro controllers are charged via a charging dock.
Ensure your VR motion controllers are turned on.
If the above does not work, try rebooting the system. If this doesn't solve the problem contact us via our support ticket form.
