❕TIP: USB Ports and Compatibility❕
Use a USB 3.0 port on the laptop for optimal performance. Some USB ports might not provide sufficient power or data transfer speeds.
If using a USB-C port, make sure it supports data transfer and is not solely for charging.
2. Click on "Devices" on the left-hand menu. The headset may already be paired - if so, you will see ✅ on the screen and you may go to step 4.
3. If you need to pair the headset and/or VR motion controllers click on the right-pointing arrow beside the headset, select "Device Setup", and then "Full Setup". Follow the instructions presented on the screen to finish the setup.
4. As a final step, click on the right-pointing arrow beside Rift S, scroll down, and select "Guardian Setup". The setup consists of:
a. Defining your play area: Click on stationary boundary
b. Defining the floor level in VR: Tab your right controller gently on the floor. The virtual grid will drop to the actual floor level and match the real environment.
Confirm the settings and minimize the application so that it runs in the background.
You're ready to go! Open the Fundamental Surgery Hub to proceed to the VR experience.
❕IMPORTANT ❕
Please perform the Oculus Guardian Setup every time after booting up the laptop. Whilst some headsets may remember the previous location it is important that the setup is 100% accurate so that application can run smoothly.
To reduce the risk of discomfort, the headset should be balanced and centered.
Please adjust the top strap and adjust the headband by twisting the fit wheel on the back to ensure comfortable placement of the headset and that you see a single, clear image.
Adjust the lenses by pressing the button located on the right underside of your headset to accommodate glasses or improve comfort.
