US Military Opportunities

Joining and Eligibility

When it comes to learning about how to join the Military, knowing where to start may seem like a difficult task, but it doesn’t have to be.

Start your research HERE, with some of the essential first steps to considering service, including eligibility requirements, testing, & boot camp.

If you are considering enlisting:

  • Visit with the reps that come to FCHS.

  • Come in to the HS guidance office and get information from the Military information files. We have information on each branch of the military along with several other special training and education opportunities that the US Military has to offer available.

  • Use that information to make a list of questions that you want to ask a recruiter and contact them or visit them at their office - (use one of your post secondary visit days).

  • You could go to one of the websites below to do research into the military careers, education / training programs, and or benefits that the various branches of the military have to offer....

Today's Military Careers

This website offers tons of information about everything military. Although each branch also has a site - I like this one the most for it's balanced, sound information and advice.

Military.COM

This is a news and resource website for military members, veterans and their families. It provides daily defense news, benefits information, veteran employment resources, spouse and family resources and tools.
