Snapchat Relationships
Snapchat is widley known for fostering casual, personal connection through its unique messaging features. Making it a hot media which is refering to the emotional intensity or the amount of participation that people are being included in the app. With disappearing messages and snaps this create a sense of immediacy and privacy, encouraging authentic communication between friends. The app also helps maintain relationships with features like streaks, which track consecutive days of interaction, and bitmoji avatars that add a playful, personalized touch to chats. Additionally, snapchat's stories and private sharing options allow users to share moments from their lives in a way that feels more intimate than traditonal social media platforms. Snap chat has brought many new friendships and relationships into existence. In this article by vaterlaus, Barnett, Roche, Young "Snapchat has been conceptualized as a more private form of communication and is an " escape from the public one-to-many communication that is the default on facebook""(page 1). This shows how snapchat can get more online interaction through messaging love ones and friends and any other relationships you may have on the app. Overall snapchat is the main use for communication between the young generation of highschoolers to 25 year olds in this day and age.
Snapchat Advertising
Snapchat Advertising works by using its features to make ads that are targeted and interactive. Businesses use snapchat ads manager to create and manage their ads, and there are different types of ads they can use and make. There was quote in this article by Ben Amor and Mzoughi that talks about the different types of ads " Snapchat offers different advertising products with specific marketing objectives such as Snap Ads, Filters, Lenses, and Discover, thereby offering an interesting alternative to tv advertising and other major social media platforms."(Snap Ads section page 1). Snap Ads are vertical video ads that pop up between stories and if you swipe up it will bring you to the snap ads website. This proves that snapchat's ads are a Rich Media which is a sophisticated interactive web advertising, usually employing sound and video. Story Ads show up in the Discover section as a series of snaps. Then sponsored lenses or filters let users add cool branded effects to their snaps. There are also non skippable commercials in premium content like snapchat shows with Dynamic ads that show personalized products based on what people are into. Snapchat uses data like age, location, and interest to target the ads to what you like so you can buy more things. Sometimes these ads feel more fun and personal so they aren't that annoying compared to other ads in other apps.

how Snapchat effects the internet and society as a whole
Snapchat has had a big impact on the internet and society by changing how people communicate and share their lives. It is mostly focus on short disappearing content has people feel more casual and in the moment, influencing the younger gneration to interact online with others. Feature like story and snap map can show you where people are doing and hanging out at certain parts of the day. Today in this society for some reason we like to post ourselves drinking and acting silly. Some of these post can effect others in a indirect way. In this article by Richner, Martin, Soetjoadi, and Mcchargue it says "Snapchats appearing to have an influence on college student's drinking via peer norms. identifying protective factors may offer additional insight into intervention-oriented mechanisms."(page 1). So with this information this shows that snapchat users are influencing college students to drink mostly because everyone want to go out and have fun in college, but still this shows how much influence people have on each other on this app. On a larger scale snapchat has shaped how brands and businesses reach audiences, introducing interactive ads and personalized content. But also some of these ads and stories are completly fake and made up. Sort of like a Pseudo-event, there will be ads and stories soley based to attract you and lure you into this fake story that might sound beleiveable for 2 minutes. Also one more thing Snapchat has changed the way people now view and think about privacy and online interactions as a whole. Overall snapchat has played a key role in reshaping digital communication, advertising, and how people express themselves online. Heres a litte video on how snapchat is destroying the brains of young kids of this generation.
I am Jake Murray , a Accounting Major graduating in year 2025. Contributiing to thie class wiki has been fun experience it has allowed me to explore a topic in depth while shareing intresting facts with my classmates. I chose to focus on Snapchat beacuse it's something I personally use and a lot of other people use it as well. One intersting thing I learned about Snapchat was how many people were shaped by other peoples influences on the app . Before I had no idea it was such a big problem but when i went deeper into the project o found it very interesting. This project not only deepend my understanding but also made me more curious about related subjects.
