This Wiki is the result of a collaboration among students enrolled in COMM102: Mass Media & Society. The general purpose of Wiki is to discuss the performance of different types of mass media and their impacts on society. Specifically, this Wiki provides readers with the opportunity to explore issues in the interaction between mass media, culture, and society. Each page of the Wiki considers different aspects of mass media performance, such as the role of media in its various forms, and how media influences our daily lives. This "Mass Media & Society" Wiki is aimed at helping readers develop critical perspectives on mass media as they consider the interaction between media institutions, media content, culture, audiences, and society. Reading this Wiki will help visitors strengthen their knowledge of mass media, see how relevant concepts apply to real-world media content, compare and contrast types of mediated communication, and consider others’ viewpoints.
