20th Annual FHS Virtual Dance Concert

Student Dance Concert

Our winter concert is the Student Dance Concert which is all student choreography and by audition only. All dance program students are invited to audition their original choreography. Advanced and CTE students are required to audition a piece of choreography. This is different than the middle school dance program which showcases all of their classes along with select student solos/duets. At the high school, we foster the students' choreography skills and give them multiple opportunities to choreograph solos, duets, trios, quartets or group pieces. We select exemplary student work and show these pieces at Somerset County Teen Arts Festivals, NJ High School Dance Festival and DanceNJ Show Up & Dance. We also submit work to Dance Up! at the 92nd St. Y in NYC. Current senior Joshua Johnson's group piece was selected to perform this past year however it was canceled due to COVID. We are hoping to resubmit for next year if theaters can open!

Spring Dance Concerts

At the end of May, all classes perform multiple pieces in the spring dance concerts. The Beginner, Boys, Intermediate, Advanced classes all perform in one concert. The CTE classes perform in another concert. Integrated Dance is a new course this year which will not be performance based.

District Dance Showcase

The Tuesday after Memorial Dance Weekend of always our District Dance Showcase which is a FREE concert that showcases all dance students from PK-12 grade. Due to the amount of dancers involved, the high school is only able to showcase a select amount of class dances.
