Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of another wonderful year at Foxhill, I feel incredibly proud of everything our children have achieved and of the confident, kind and resilient young people they continue to become.

It has been a year filled with so many special moments. Our children have flourished both in the classroom and beyond, enjoying a wealth of opportunities including theme days, trips, Forest School, the Mini World Cup, Sports Day, Colour run, our music concert and Year 6 Takeover Day. These experiences have brought learning to life and created memories that we hope the children will treasure for many years to come.

A particularly proud moment for us all was achieving OPAL Platinum status for our playtimes. Only a small percentage of schools achieve this prestigious award, and it reflects the commitment of our staff, children and families to making playtimes exciting, creative and inclusive for everyone.

We also say a very fond farewell to our wonderful Year 6 leavers. They leave Foxhill with excellent SATs results, many happy memories and the skills and confidence they need for the next stage of their education. We are so proud of each and every one of them and wish them every happiness and success as they begin high school.

Finally, thank you to all our families for your continued kindness, encouragement and support throughout the year. It means so much to us. I hope you all enjoy a happy, peaceful and well-deserved summer break with your loved ones.

Colour run in the sun!

Sports

This half term has been a very sporty one! We had a very successful Sports Day and Mini World Cup, as well as hosting lots of sports tournaments for ourselves and seven other schools! We've had lots of smiles, competitiveness, sportsmanship and super team work! Going into next year, we plan to continue to make sporting events a key part of life at Foxhill. Thanks for all your support when it comes to these big events.

Supporting Well-Being Over the Summer

Where has time gone? I want to start with a huge thank you to everyone connected at Foxhill, the staff, parents and most of all the children for making my first 2 terms so enjoyable. To our Year 6's, good luck and go smash the next chapter - you are all ready and capable of smashing high school.

The summer holidays are a wonderful time for rest and family fun, but the change in routine can sometimes feel overwhelming for young minds. Here are a few gentle tips to help maintain positive well-being over the break:

Keep a loose routine: Try to maintain consistent wake-up times and mealtimes where possible to provide a sense of security.
Talk about feelings: Encourage your child to share any worries they might have about the upcoming school year. Validating their feelings now helps ease transition anxiety later.
Prioritise downtime: While activities are exciting, children also need unstructured time to simply play, relax, and recharge.
Limit screen time: Balance digital entertainment with outdoor play, reading, or family board games to help clear busy minds.

Celebrating Our Nurture Group
A particular highlight of this year has been the wonderful progress made in our Nurture Group. This safe, supportive space has allowed children to develop their social skills, build emotional resilience, and grow in self-esteem.

Confidence: We have watched children find their voices and grow proud of their achievements.
Friendships: The group has helped students learn how to share, cooperate, and build meaningful peer bonds.
Emotional regulation: Children have developed excellent tools to name, understand, and manage big feelings.

Looking Ahead to September

Change can bring up a mix of excitement and nerves. In the final weeks of term, we have spent time preparing the children for their new classes to ensure they feel safe and confident. When we return in September, my door will remain open to offer a listening ear, structured interventions, and a safe space for anyone needing extra comfort.

Should you have any concerns I have put together a Parent Referral Form (https://forms.gle/hcZY9PsvB6GCKZNJ9).This form is for parents/carers to share concerns about their child's mental health, emotional wellbeing or behaviour, so Pastoral Support can be provided.

Community Support and Resources

If your family requires extra support over the holiday period, please remember that local resources are available. You can access guidance on mental health, food banks, and holiday activity clubs via the local council website (https://shorturl.at/0uqUB), or through national charities like YoungMinds and Place2Be.

WOW scheme

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our new WOW Travel Scheme.

It has been wonderful to see the children enthusiastically recording how they travel to school and proudly collecting their badges. We hope this fantastic effort continues throughout the year!

A reminder that children can earn badges by walking or cycling to school. Families can also take part in Park and Stride by parking around 10 minutes away from school and walking the rest of the journey. We are incredibly grateful to the rugby club for kindly allowing us to use their car park during drop-off and pick-up times.

Thanks to everyone's efforts, we finished the month 3rd out of 30 schools across the Bradford local authority and an amazing 117th out of more than 1,600 schools nationwide.

A huge well done to all of our children and families for helping to make this such a fantastic success. Keep up the great work!

Get into the rhythm this summer with Bradford Libraries and the Summer Reading Challenge 2026 Read to the Beat!

Children aged 4 to 12 can sign up at any library across the district from 4 July. The Challenge is free to take part in and encourages children to keep reading over the summer holidays, building confidence and a lifelong love of reading.

Children can read anything they enjoy and set their own reading goals. Along the way, they’ll collect rewards, including an exclusive Storytime magazine, stickers and - after completing the challenge - a certificate and medal.

This year’s theme celebrates rhythm, music and storytelling, with a range of fun, free activities taking place in libraries across the district. From lively workshops to creative sessions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
