FOXHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL - SPRING 1 NEWSLETTER
Dear Foxhill Families,
What a wonderfully busy and uplifting few weeks it has been at Foxhill. Even with the miserable weather doing its very best to dampen our spirits, our children have continued to shine — filling the playground with smiles, laughter and endless energy, whatever the weather!. One of the true highlights has been our fabulous arts festival, “Our Art – Our World.” From vibrant artwork inspired by artists across the globe to music, dance and performance, creativity has burst from every classroom. It has been a joy to see children so proud of what they have achieved.
Our commitment to the arts goes far beyond one week. From our recent music concert and participation in Young Voices, to themed curriculum days, educational visits and cultural trips that bring learning to life, we are passionate about providing rich experiences that inspire and broaden horizons. These opportunities help our children grow in confidence, resilience and curiosity and they complement the excellent progress they continue to make in their everyday learning.
None of this happens without teamwork. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff for their enthusiasm, talent and hard work in creating such memorable experiences and to our parents and carers for your continued encouragement and support. When school and families work together, we create something truly special. Foxhill is more than a school — it is a community — and I feel incredibly proud to lead it. Our children make me very proud each and every day.
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Thomason
Headteacher
They say time flies when your having fun!
I can’t believe that my first half term at Foxhill has already passed. It has been a privilege joining Foxhill and getting to know the children and families.
The final week of this half term has been 'Children's Mental Health Week' - The theme this year was ‘This is My Place’ which is based around belonging and how we can feel a sense of belonging. At Foxhill, we are committed to supporting the holistic development of our students, recognising that mental health and emotional wellbeing are fundamental to their success, development and happiness.
To further strengthen the support we offer our families, we are introducing a Parent Referral Form for Mental Health & Wellbeing. This form provides a clear and confidential way for you to share any concerns about your child’s emotional wellbeing, social development, or behavioural changes.
Once a referral is received, I will carefully review the information and where appropriate, offer in-school support. This may include check-ins, small group work, or targeted interventions. If additional help is needed, we can also discuss referrals to appropriate external services and agencies to ensure your child receives the right level of support.
We are committed to working in partnership with families to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for all our students. We value our partnership with you in creating a safe and supportive environment for every child. If you have immediate questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to me.
When should you use this form?
You may wish to submit a referral if you notice persistent signs of:
Increased anxiety, withdrawal, or sudden mood changes.
Difficulty with significant family changes.
Significant changes in sleep, eating habits, or interest in school.
Challenges with peer relationships or social isolation.
How it works:
Once a form is submitted, I will review the information and coordinate the most appropriate next steps. This may include check-ins with the student, providing resources for home, or discussing external professional support.
Access and Confidentiality:
You can access a copy from the office. All information shared is treated with the utmost sensitivity and confidentiality, in accordance with our GDPR Policy.
