Our Golden Welly Play Champions this half term!
🎉 Golden Welly Winners!
This half term, our Golden Welly superstars have shone bright at playtime—working together, cheering each other on, and showing brilliant teamwork and cooperation. You’ve shown the very best of yourselves and made our playground a happier place. Well done, champions! 🥇👢
As winter is upon us and the mud season is here, the adventures get splashier and dirtier—and that’s part of the joy! To keep everyone comfy and ready to play in the adventure playground, please send children in with wellies and waterproof trousers. With the right gear, we can jump in puddles, explore, and keep the fun going—whatever the weather! ☔️🧣
Forest School
The children have thoroughly enjoyed their Forest School sessions with Lizzie from Bee Outdoors, making the most of the outdoors through hands-on, adventurous learning. The children built shelters, explored the natural environment and worked together to solve challenges, developing their confidence, teamwork and resilience along the way. These sessions have been a real highlight, giving pupils the chance to learn in our calm, inspiring woodland setting.
The second group of Year 2 children used the KS1 woodland for their Forest School sessions whilst the new fencing was being erected in the main Woodland area.
They maximised the space completing lots of activities, such as den building, climbing, hammock play, making lavender bags and wands, minibeast hunting and whittling sticks with peelers. Great fun and a great time had by all!
Year 5 Pupils braved the cold for a Forest School session. They used a saw to cut round pieces of wood, which they then threaded with string to turn into ornaments. The children also had a go at striking flint and steel to create a small fire. Some found this very easy, while others needed a little extra time to practise. A few pupils chose to relax in the tree hammock, happily watching their classmates at work. The sessions were thoroughly enjoyed, and pupils were certainly not afraid to get a little (or a lot!) muddy.
