FOXHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL - AUTUMN 2 NEWSLETTER
FOXHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL - AUTUMN 2 NEWSLETTER
Dear Foxhill families,
As we come to the end of our autumn term, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly special few months here at Foxhill. Our children have worked incredibly hard, shown wonderful kindness towards one another and embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and pride.
Forest School and outdoor play continued - whatever the weather brought our way. It has been lovely to see how much joy, resilience and teamwork the children have developed outdoors. During UK Parliament Week, pupils learnt about democracy, debate and how everyone’s voice matters. Year's 4,5 and 6 met with Judith Cummings (member of parliament for Bradford South) where they were given the opportunity to quiz her on her role as Deputy speaker and how democracy works. Our Festival of the Spoken Word gave children the chance to express themselves confidently and creatively through fabulous magic tricks with the amazing Magination - sharing performances with growing confidence.
We continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our school community - we are pleased to share that we have strengthened school security this term, through the installation of new perimeter fencing and an updated CCTV system, helping to ensure our site remains a safe and secure environment for all children and staff.
Our Christmas celebrations kicked off with our traditional music concert and Church visit - where the children's commitment and love of music truly shone. One of the highlights of every year are our Nativity plays and this year’s performances were no exception. The children spoke, sang and acted with such heart; it was a privilege to watch them and I was incredibly proud. We also enjoyed our festive Christmas Disco, a wonderful opportunity for pupils to celebrate together, followed by an exciting trip to the Panto, which brought so much laughter and joy. To top it all off, we welcomed a very special visit from the Big man in red!
As always, I want to express my sincere thanks to our staff, who work tirelessly to provide rich learning experiences and a warm, nurturing environment for every child. Thank you also to our families for your continued support — it makes an enormous difference and is deeply appreciated. Before we finish for the holidays, we would also like to share a very heartfelt farewell to Mr Linsel, who will be leaving us at the end of term to further his career. He has contributed so much to our school his dedication and commitment to the children will be greatly missed by us all. We thank him sincerely for his hard work and wish him every success and happiness in the next chapter of his educational journey.
I hope the Christmas break brings rest, togetherness and moments of peace for all our families. We look forward to welcoming the children back in January for another exciting term of learning and growing together.
Wishing you all a calm, joyful Christmas and a very happy New Year.
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Thomason

Hello Mr Watson!
We are delighted to welcome Mr Watson to the Foxhill team as our new Pastoral Support Worker. You will see him outside every morning, so please say "Hello!" Mr Watson will be working closely with children and families to support wellbeing, nurture positive relationships and help pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Outside of school, he is a keen sports fan who loves cricket and rugby, and he is also a huge Huddersfield Town supporter! We are really looking forward to him joining Foxhill and know he will be a fantastic addition to our school community.
Christmas at Foxhill!
A beautiful performance from Reception - with our very own Whoops-a-daisy angel!
A confident and seamless production from the Key Stage 1 team and children as they told the Christmas story.
A wonderful celebration of our pupils' talents in singing and a variety of instruments.
The Christmas Disco!
Our Christmas Disco was a huge success and a real highlight of the festive season! The hall was filled with music, laughter and plenty of energetic dance moves as children enjoyed celebrating with their friends. A big thank you to our PTA - it was a lovely way to spread Christmas cheer and create happy memories as we head towards the holidays.
