Bahamas Bound 2020 Update #6
May 19, 2020Sue and I hope this update finds everyone in good health and maintaining a light hearted attitude while the Coronavirus pandemic drags on.
We are currently still in Bimini, Bahamas. The island is in a two week lock-down which started May 18th. Everything on the island is closed and everyone is confined to their homes during this lock-down. We can still get off of the boat, however we are confined to the marina, so we can still get exercise and play Corn Hole. We are quite content and it is very relaxing.
Just before the lock-down went into effect we decided to take the dingy out for some fun. The water here is sooo blue and sooo clear it is like we’re in a swimming pool. We wanted to share this with you and hopefully the following pictures will convey that.
When I was getting the dingy down from the aft hardtop I took this pic. You are not looking at a reflection, you can see the dock pilings all the way down to the bottom. The water is 15 feet deep here.
We’re in the dingy and ready to head out for the afternoon.
We are cruising along the west coast of South Bimini island.
We’re heading to our favorite sand bar.
We have fish in our swimming pool….imagine that!
It really is like boating in a swimming pool, the only difference is....the water is warmer!
Check out the sting ray. There were numerous ones in the area with us.
Of course we needed a little beach time.
Even though we can’t do everything we’ve wanted to….it’s pretty darn nice here in Bimini.
