Congratulations to Mr. Christian Bigliani, our October Teacher of the Month. One student said, "Mr. Bigliani is an amazing teacher. He's always keeping us engaged and he's really fun to have as a teacher. He is also really kind and actually is able to relate to us.”
Congratulations to Mrs. Pam Brooks, our October Staff Member of the Month. One student said, "She always makes sure the lunchroom is spotless for us to be able to have an enjoyable lunch.”
Our Fall Sources of Strength campaign will be held November 11-15. The theme for this month is "We Are Thankful." We will also celebrate world Kindness Day on the 13th as a part of the campaign.
Thank you to all who participated in the "We Are Connected" campaign. We had a great turnout with almost 40% of students and staff participating. Hope we can get even more in November!
Loyalists and Patriots in 8th Grade Georgia Studies completed a secret mission to decode interesting facts about the American Revolution. Students learned how to decode a Cryptogram, how to read a PigPen Cipher and a Polybius Cipher, and how to decode Morse Code in order to help Benjamin Franklin remember the secret code to his vault! It was a race against the clock as many Patriots outwitted their Loyalist opponents in a fun and engaging Escape Room experience.
Living History with the Sons of the American Revolution
8th Grade Georgia Studies students traveled back in time to the American Revolutionary Era with the Sons of the American Revolution - Robert Forsyth Chapter (Cumming, GA). History came to life as students heard stories, explored authentic artifacts and learned how the American Revolution impacted Georgians during this era.
Special thanks to the Robert Forsyth Chapter for bringing history to life for our students!
6th grade has been reading “When Stars are Scattered” by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed and we have LOVED it! It has given us a look at what it would be like to be a refugee. A few of the members of our class have decided to write letters to refugees in Dadaab with words of encouragement.
A great big THANK YOU to our VCMS community for supporting our Book Fair and Blow Pop Fundraiser for the Media Center.
Thank you to all the families who donated prizes for the Blow Pop board and also to those who donated their time to help run the fair. What we've accomplished would be impossible without your help.
Thank you to Longhorn Steakhouse Alpharetta for sponsoring our Teacher and Staff Member of the Month Program!
