VCMS administration community message

A Message regarding Final Exams May 2025:

Please know that no exams may be taken early - there will be no exceptions.

All exams that are missed (i.e. student(s) being out of town) will be put in the gradebook as Missing.
Missing grades are calculated as a zero (0) in the gradebook until the missing exam is made up.
Students will be provided an opportunity to make-up missed exams prior to the start of the 2025-2026 school year (date TBD) at which time a grade change will be completed.

Once the 2025-2026 school year begins on August 5, 2025, grade changes for the 2024-2025 school year will not be completed. We strongly encourage our students be present at school during final exams, as making them up at the end of summer does not set our students up for optimal success.

VCMS clinic

The end of the school year is a busy time in the clinic and summertime will be here before we know it! Before the year ends, please remember:

If your student has medication in the clinic, it MUST be picked up by May 22nd
All paperwork and medication forms must be completed prior to the start of EACH school year, see the included QR code for access to the most current forms.
Rising 7th graders must have updated immunizations PRIOR to the start of the new school year.

End of Year Information:

Library Books:

Last day to check out library books - 5/7/25
All library books due back to the media center - 5/12/25

Textbooks & ELA Novels:

All textbooks and ELA novels are due back to the media center 5/12/25 UNLESS they are still needed in class.
If your student is still using their testbook/ELA novel, please return the book once their classwork/test is complete.

Calculators:

All calculators are due back to the media center 5/12/25 UNLESS they are still needed in class.
If your student is still using their calculator, please return the calculator once their classwork/test is complete.

Lost/Unreturned/Damaged Library Materials & Calculators:

On 5/19/25 all lost/unreturned/damaged library books and calculators will be flagged in our library management system. (Calculators will be flagged only for students whose teachers have indicated that they are no longer needed for class at this time - all other calculators will be flagged on 5/21/25)
On 5/21/25 all lost/unreturned/damaged textbooks and ELA novels will be flagged in our library management system.
A replacement fee will be generated for the items on your student's account.
If you locate the unreturned library book, textbook, ELA novel, or calculator before the end of the school year, you may return the material to the VCMS media center and the replacement fee will be deleted.
If you locate the unreturned library book, textbook, ELA novel, or calculator after the end of the school year, you may return the material to VCMS at the start of the 2025-2026 school year and the unpaid replacement fee will be removed.
For items that are truly lost or damaged, you may pay the replacement fee at Schoolpay.com.
