Happy February, Viper families!
We are excited to start the month with lots of great events, learning opportunities, and celebrations. As we move into the season of school transitions, it's important to check social media and the high school websites to see how they are preparing for our 8th graders' arrival. We are also excited to start the process for our incoming 6th graders. All of that information will be on our website and social media. Congratulations to all our Viper basketball teams on a great season. The track and golf seasons are right around the corner, and we look forward to seeing more Vipers in action! Be sure to look for information for our International Food Fest on February 7th. Remember, there is a long weekend around President's Day for students.

It was another great experience for the students to compete! We had several students who placed in their competition!
Out of 20 students competing in the varsity level of the tournament were:

Debate - January
We had a great turn out for our debate team!
We had 13 teams participate. We had 9 teams out of the 13 who placed in their debate!
Our team were complimented about how well they knew their evidence, rebuttals and cross examination.

PBIS - Fang Fest
Our first Fang Fest of the school year took place on Friday, December 13th! Students could move from room to room to participate in different activities that interested them! Lots of popcorn, Gatorade, dancing, singing, and races on the inflatable obstacle course took place. It was a successful and fun celebration of excellent behavior! Our PBIS team would like to thank all parents who donated Gatorade for this day!

The Girls and Boys 7th/8th Grade Basketball Teams are finishing their seasons STRONG entering the Forsyth County Middle School Basketball Tournament. All 4 teams are playing this month to wrap up their seasons! Come out and cheer on our Viper and Lady Viper Basketball Teams to VICTORY!

Our Lady Vipers basketball teams participated in a Christmas toy drive for the western, North Carolina children that were devastated by all the flooding. Basketball is so much more than wins or losses. Teaching life lessons are much more important! Please congratulate them for helping so many children in need during this difficult time for their communities.

The media center will be hosting a 2nd semester fundraiser by selling candy grams in honor of Valentine's Day.
Candy grams will be sold in the rotunda before school Monday 2/10 - Thursday 2/13. They are $1 each and will be delivered during your 3rd period class Tuesday 2/11 - Thursday 2/13.
Who do you send a candy gram to?
Anyone - friends, teachers, staff, even yourself! (You're pretty awesome. You deserve it!)
To send a candy gram you'll need to know your friend's first & last name as well as their 3rd period teacher.
There's no limit, so spread the love!

Each staff member created their custom box, from Amore Mio Bakery. Treat boxes were delivered to our teachers on December 19th by our PTO elves!
