According to College Board, "In AP U.S. History, students investigate significant events, individuals, developments, and processes in nine historical periods from approximately 1491 to the present. Students develop and use the same skills and methods employed by historians: analyzing primary and secondary sources; developing historical arguments; making historical connections; and utilizing reasoning about comparison, causation, and continuity and change. The course also provides eight themes that students explore throughout the course in order to make connections among historical developments in different times and places: American and national identity; work, exchange, and technology; geography and the environment; migration and settlement; politics and power; America in the world; American and regional culture; and social structures."
We will give you all the information we can, following the standards established by College Board. Please review these standards before committing to the course, as some content may be considered controversial and/or contrast with your existing beliefs. Hello! My name is Brittany Rhodes and I have been a social studies teacher for eleven years, the last nine of which have been in Forsyth County. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Auburn University in 2012 and my Master's from Georgia Southern University in 2020. I have also earned certification for gifted education and online teaching. I was born in Hershey, PA but ironically hate chocolate and candy. I have moved several times and have been fortunate enough to visit 36 states and 22 countries. In addition to teaching at Denmark, I sponsor the Pride Alliance & UNICEF, and coach girls golf.
