Building routines by setting and reinforcing clear expectations increases instructional time as less time is used to sort out appropriate materials. Furthermore, students will be able to refer back to notes to better understand the narrative of learning.
Set clear expectations from the beginning of the year/ term about what materials students' are required to bring to each class.
Have these expectations on Google Classroom or a list in their workbooks.
Refer to these expectations regularly.
Reward expectations met.
Call home/ ask students to make up time for when the expectations aren't met.
