Teacher identifies a student-focused PEERS goal.
Powerful- have a significant impact on student outcomes
Emotionally compelling- the goal and it’s success matters deeply to teachers and students
Easy to implement (can also be supported through modelling and observation and feedback if new strategy)
Reachable and hope building
Student centred- effective goals are student focused rather than teacher focused (the effectiveness of the strategy will be determined by its effect on student learning). Addresses a student achievement, behaviour, or attitude outcome.
