As part of a public high school, FVHS students are required to participate in state testing at their locally zoned public high school.
To earn a high school diploma, students must pass (by earning a Level 3 or higher) :
Algebra 1 End of Course Assessment (or a concordant assessment)
10th Grade English Language Assessment (or a concordant assessment)
Public school students must participate in End of Course Assessments. These assessments must count for 30% of the overall grade in the respective course. These assessments include:
Algebra 1 (students must pass this assessment, or a concordant assessment, to earn a diploma)
Geometry
Biology
US History
Public school students in grades 9 and 10 must participate in Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) progress monitoring assessments in Reading 3 times per year
Progress monitoring 1 and 2 will be given remotely
Progress monitoring 3 will be given at a local test site
