Week at a Glance: This weekly school newsletter will keep you up to date on all school wide events, programs, important deadlines, and more! You can find the link on the right side of any class announcement page, on the Focus portal, and in the FVHS Family Resource Center.
Focus: The school calendar is found in Focus as well as the link to our weekly newsletter, Week at a Glance. There is also a Focus Community App so that you can see events and social media on mobile devices!
Each Florida Virtual High School student is assigned to a Homeroom. Your homeroom teacher will most likely be one of your class teachers, and they are your go-to contact for any school matters and questions.
It is a school requirement that parent/guardians along with students complete the following calls with their homeroom teacher.
Welcome Call: this is a time for homeroom teachers to get to know the students and to begin building that relationship from the start!
Monthly Calls: this is a time to review student progress. Each month, homeroom teachers will review grades and pace in all 6 courses. This is an important opportunity to celebrate success and offer additional support.
Teachers are available Mondays-Fridays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. If you do not reach them please make sure to leave a message and they will get back to you within 24 hours. You are also welcome to text or email if that is your preference.
Firebird Tip: It's very important that the contact information for both student and parent/guardian is correct in our system. Please keep contact information up to date in Focus and reach out to your homeroom teacher if you need help.
