Tips:
Expect a low score. That’s okay. As soon as you submit your first assignment, 1.02, your grade will significantly go up.
You can take it now, or we recommend that you wait and take it before the Segment Exam as a way to review!
Tips for creating a successful snapshot:
Include a Thumbnail image of the assigned artwork!
Be descriptive and specific!
The visual characteristics should be observational or something that you can see. You can discuss the style, art elements and principles, material, scale/size, how it's displayed/viewed, etc.
Tips on completing the outline:
You should format your response in bulleted sentences, labeled with the task you’re addressing. See below for an example.
Outline Example (What You're Writing)
Task 1: You would need to include 2 identifiers for the artwork. An identifier includes the title, artist, culture, year created, and/or material.
Task 2: You would need to write about the purpose and meaning behind the artwork.

Tips for wrtiting a successful essay:
Follow each Task in order.
Be descriptive! When it asks you to describe visual characteristics, be specific in what can be observed (seen). Reference something specific on the structure. Don't just write, "it has decorative details".
Do a bit of research to learn more about a historical period. In this case, it's Baroque. What style characteristics define Baroque? Its not always just about researching the artwork/structure, AP also wants you to discover general art history knowledge.
