THE PROCESS
STEP ONE - Enter The Join Code to Your AP Account
You need to create or update your College Board Account. You need to enter the AP Classroom Join Code that was provided by your AP art history teacher.
Step-by-step Instructions on How to Enter Your Classroom Join Code
Go to the My AP Portal: Navigate to myap.collegeboard.org.
Sign In: Log in using your existing College Board account username and password. If you don't have one, you'll need to create one.
Join a Course: On your dashboard, click the Join a Course or Exam button.
Enter Your Join Code: Input the six-character join code provided by your teacher.
Submit: Click the Submit button.
Verify Course Information: A screen will appear showing the details of the course. Confirm that the information is correct.
Confirm Your Enrollment: If the course information is right, click Yes to enroll in the class section.
Complete Registration: If this is your first time joining a My AP course, you may need to complete some initial registration information.
Repeat for Additional Courses: If you are taking more than one AP course, you will need to repeat steps 2 through 4 for each course, using the unique join code for each.
STEP TWO - READ THE LETTER SENT IN THE EMAIL
Read the parent/student letter that was emailed to you from your AP Art History teacher. You can also find this letter above (at the top of this page). Read it carefully and follow each of the steps.
STEP THREE - COMPLETE THE AP EXAM REGISTRATION SURVEY
Complete the AP Exam Registration Survey and access your personal AP exam ordering directions. This link can be found in the letter that was emailed to you OR you can click here.
STEP FOUR - READ THE EMAIL "AP EXAM REGISTRATION SURVEY SUMMARY"
Once you complete the form, you will recieve another email. This time, it will be the specific directions and letter that explains how your school district wants you to obtain your Join Exam Only Code.
To the right is an example of what this letter might look like. On your letter, read the highlighted yellow box area.
IMPORTANT: Most likely it will tell you that you have to get the code from your school's AP Coordinator. This is a person on-site that handles all testing for your school or the school you'll need to go to take the exam; usually a media center specialist, an assistant principal, or another AP teacher. It often will not be your guidance counselor. If you are unsure who the schools' AP coordinator is, please ask another AP teacher at your school and they should be able to help you or go to the school directly if it isn't your school but rather another site.
STEP FIVE - ENTER YOUR EXAM ONLY JOIN CODE INTO YOUR AP ACCOUNT
Once you have received your EXAM ONLY JOIN CODE, you will need to go back into your College Board Account and enter it into your AP Art History Classroom.
IMPORTANT: You are NOT registered yet, Until you see a Date and Location of when/where you'll be taking your exam on your AP Art History dashboard. See the image to the right.
