Start by installing the Epson Interactive Projector Software
On a MacBook, start by installing the software:
Open Self Service
2. Search for Epson
3. Install the Epson Software
Next, give persmission to the software on your computer:
4. Open System Settings
5. Open the Privacy & Security Menu
6. Open Screen & System Audio Recording
Then turn on Easy Interactive Tools Agent and Easy Interactive Tools Ver. 5 by sliding the toggle into the on position.
7. Go back to the Privacy & Security Menu, then select Input Monitoring.
Then turn on Easy Interactive Tools Agent and Easy Interactive Tools Ver.5 by toggling the button into the on position.
On a Windows Laptop, start by installing the software:
Open Software Center
2. Search for Epson, then install:
Epson USB Display Installer
Epson Easy Interactive Tools
Once the Epson Software has been installed on the Windows Laptop, the software is ready to be used. No additional privacy & security settings need to be enabled.
Connect the USB A to USB B Cable
Connect the USB-A end of the cable to the computer or adaptor (J5, Anker, Plugable) in the USB-A port.
Connect the USB-B end of the cable to USB-B port in the wall.
Once the USB Cable is connected and the software has been installed, the interactive touch feature is available to use.
Touch Feature ON/OFF
When the Touch button is selected (white background), the Touch Feature is ON
When the Touch button is unselected (black background), the Touch Feature is OFF
The Touch Feature must be on for the touch interactivity features to work.
If you do not want the touch features to work, or would like to prevent students from interacting with the screen, turn the Touch Feature Off.
PC Interactivity Button on Interactive Projected Image
When the PC Interactivity Feature is ON, the PC Interactivity button has a white background.
The PC Interactivity Mode allows you to use the whiteboard like a giant touchscreen for your computer. No annotation features are available in this mode.
When the PC Interactivity Feature is OFF, the PC Interactivity button has a black background.
When PC Interactivity is off, you may use the pens/annotation features on your projected images/slides.
Interactive Pen Legend
The Interactive Pen Legend shows what function is currently in use by each pen and finger touch option.
As seen in the example, the Orange pen is currently set to the 'Eraser' tool. The Blue pen is currently set to a Green marker and the finger touch is currently set to a Red marker.
To change which tool is selected for each pen, use the pen of choice (Orange or Blue) then tap the tool or color you wish to use with the pen.
To change which tool is selected for finger touch, use your finger to select the tool or color from the toolbar.
Interactive Pen Options
Allows you to select between the marker, highlighter, and shapes
2-6. Select a color of your choosing for the marker, highlighter or shape.
7. Eraser Tool: Erase small areas.
8. Select/Move Tool: Select the writing or drawing and move it around the screen.
9. Undo Tool: Allows you to quickly remove the last added markup.
10. Redo Tool: Allows you to quickly add back a deleted markup.
11. Trash Tool: Quickly clear the entire screen of markups.
Main Display
Ensure the projected image is set as the 'Main Display' if you are not mirroring your screen or you are using an external monitor in addition to the computer and projector.
On a Windows computer:
Open Settings
Navigate to the System Settings
Open Display Settings
Ensure the check box for 'Make this my main display' is selected for the image being projected onto the projector.
On an Apple computer:
Open Settings
Navigate to the Display Settings
Select Arrange
Ensure the Menu Bar (White bar at top of the window) is on the image being projected onto the projector.
If the Menu bar is not on the image that is being projected onto the project, drag it to the projected image.
Then select 'Done' to save your settings.
