Rita Salvado has got her PhD in Textile Engineering in 2002 with the European Label (Portugal, France and Sweden). She is Director of the Wool Museum of the University of Beira Interior since December 2018, as well as coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Fashion Design since November 2019. 

Currently she is focussed on the projective dimension of the historical textiles and of the Museum's collection, to develop new and creative educational and cultural services. This line of work is articulated with the dynamization of the Wool Route TRANSLANA, in an approach of collective valorization of the wool heritage, binding sustainable development. Her main competences are a consistent participative management comitment, a scientific communication experience and an open mind view to create synergies and boost cooperation among diverse scientific areas.
