Mara Espírito Santo is a researcher in the field of Heritage Conservation and Restoration and a PhD candidate at NOVA University Lisbon. Her work focuses on historical natural dyes, with particular emphasis on 18th-century dyeing practices and their contemporary application in sustainable and innovative textile contexts.
She has conducted research on historical dyeing recipes, participating in international projects and regularly presenting her work at scientific conferences. She is the author of publications in the field of natural dyes and cultural heritage and has been awarded the Robert W. G. Hunt International Poster Award.
