LAQV-NOVA School for Sciences and Technology

Paula Nabais is a Junior Researcher at LAQV-REQUIMTE R&D unit, awarded in the 2021 competitive Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus promoted by FCT, and a specialist in organic colorants applied in heritage objects. In 2025 she was awarded an ERC starting Grant for project SCARLET. 

She is the Principal Investigator of "REVIVE | The threads of the past weaving the future: The colors from the Royal Textile Factory of Covilhã, 1764-1850" (2022.01243.PTDC), which aims at uniting Science, History and Art for the preservation of lost crafts. She was also the Vice-chair for Working Group 2 'Clothing Identities' and member of the Portuguese management committee for COST ACTION EuroWeb, and she was the Vice-chair for the COST Innovators Grant HERITEX-HUB.
