Maria João Melo

LAQV-NOVA School for Sciences and Technology

Maria João Melo is Full Professor at the Department of Conservation and Restoration of the NOVA School of Science and Technology as well as a researcher at Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry-Requimte and Institute of Medieval Studies at NOVA.  

She participated in the creation of the Department of Conservation and Restoration at FCT NOVA. She was its president (2017-19) and is the coordinator of its PhD Program in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (funded by FCT-MCTES, 1.3 M€). She has participated in 15 research projects and was the PI of 6 (1 M€). Her present challenge is to strengthen her interdisciplinary research and approach, at the frontiers of the social and natural sciences, promoting public engagement.
