As FCPS educators determine how they want to proceed professionally by choosing personalized pathways for professional development, one possible option is seeking National Board Certification.

National Board Certification Details for FCPS Educators
FCPS supports initial NBC candidates and active NBCTs pursuing Maintenance of Certification in the following areas:
Face-to-face and virtual information sessions
Partnership with Hood College for complementary coursework
Partnership with MSDE for credit opportunities in conjunction with pursuing and maintaining certification
Partnership with MSDE to offset cost of certification through fee support
Scheduled support sessions with current FCPS NBCTs in strategically identified cohorts
Current cohort support lasts one year and has a limit on the number of participants
In-person & face-to-face NB Certification & Teacher Advancement sessions are happening again this spring.
