Eligibility Criteria for Fee Incentive Support
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) establishes the requirements of an NBC candidacy, which may be found in the Guide to National Board Certification.
Code of Maryland Regulations 13A.07.08 establishes the criteria for the selection of eligible program participants
• BA degree (unless CTE)
• 3 years of successful teaching experience at the time of enrollment into the candidacy
• Hold a professional MD educator’s license
• Have access to a class of students in the content area/grade needed for the NBC being pursued
• ACTFL scores ( if seeking a certification in world languages)
Fee Incentive Program is available to public school teachers and non-classroom teachers as defined in Code of MD Regulations 13A.07.08.
