In second grade, there are a few BIG ideas students learn and that are the foundation for future learning in mathematics:

• Understand that the digits in a three digit number show hundreds, tens, and ones

• Be fluent with addition and subtraction facts to 20
• Tell time to the nearest 5 minutes on an analog clock and understand A.M. and P.M.
