Labor Laws and Workers Rights

The Goal of this unit is to explain, follow, and understand regulations and  responsibilities of employees and employers.

This entire unit is estimated to take  9-10 School Days at 45-60 minutes per day. 

Standards:

CT.ACDP.01.03 Identify state mandates on child labor laws, wages, and worker’s compensation. 

CT.ACDP.01.04 Cite necessity for child labor regulations. 

CT.ACDP.01.05 Define work related safety terms and acronyms. 

CT.ACDP.01.06 Identify major causes of accidents. 

CT.ACDP.01.07 Evaluate safety hazards in the work place and analyze methods to reduce  accidents. 

CT.ACDP.01.08 Identify sexual harassment and discuss options for responding to it. 

CT.ACDP.01.09 Describe the collective bargaining process. 

CT.ACDP.01.10 Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of union membership.
