Transportation is provided per FCPS board policy. Students who are accepted to SCAPA Lafayette will need to request transportation through the Special Programs Transportation Portal if needed. Special program bus stop requests must be received by June 15 in order to be processed. Please note that ALL current SCAPA families who wish their students to ride buses to or from SCAPA Lafayette at any time during the school year MUST complete this online request form no later than June 15. No transportation information will be transferred from the current school year.
Families should create an account on the FCPS Transportation Portal to view your student's assigned bus schedule.
SCAPA Bus Route List:
If you are not already in the Lafayette attendance area, your bus route may require you to transport your student to a drop-off and pickup location rather than door-to-door.
Transportation Model:
Bus transportation for students in the Magnet, Specialized, and Gifted & Talented Programs utilizes a centralized bus stop system. Stops have been designated throughout the district to efficiently serve students.
Stop Locations:
To make transportation to our special programs more feasible for your family, the district is providing centralized transportation hubs. These bus stops are designed for convenience and will typically be located within a few miles of the homes of students requiring out-of-area transportation. This system has also been developed with student safety as a priority as students will not be required to cross major roadways to reach their designated bus stop.
Exceptions (Safety/Free/Reduced):
Requests for individualized or closer neighborhood stops will generally not be granted, unless the student qualifies for free/reduced meal programs, OR there are extreme safety concerns that make the walk to the centralized stop highly dangerous. The Director of Transportation or designee makes the final determination on all exceptions.
Transportation Questions? Email the routing staff,
Please direct all exception requests to the Director of Transportation's office, outlining the specific safety concern or confirming free/reduced meal program enrollment. Our department/school does not have the authority to create new stops.
On-Campus Pickup and Dropoff:
SCAPA buses drop off and pick up at the bus pull off next to SCAPA Bluegrass (on Lafayette Parkway). Buses depart after SCAPA Bluegrass 3:45PM dismissal in the afternoons.
