Off The Page:
A Collaboration of Word and Art
During the Fall 2021 semester, writers and artists of the SCAPA-Lafayette Literary and Visual Arts programs collaborated to produce Off the Page: A Collaboration of Word and Art, an art show featuring written memories and artistic interpretations. Each writer in the Literary Arts program wrote two vignettes, a compressed form of narrative centered on a single memory or experience from their childhood. Each artist in the Visual Arts program selected one anonymous vignette to interpret and represent using any medium they chose. The collaboration took three months to complete, and all artists and writers will meet each other for the final installation on Friday, November 19, at 9 a.m. in the Lafayette High School Media Center. Students were instructed by SCAPA-Lafayette teachers Sarah Detraz (Visual Art), Liz Prather (Literary Arts), and Teresa Stofer (Visual Art).
