Seniors: Please consider applying for the 2019 Elk's Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The Elks National Foundation Awards $2.44 million in college scholarships annually to 500 high school seniors nationwide through its Most Valuable Student contest. The deadline to apply is November 15, 2018 and the application is NOW open at the following:

ACT test dates: October 27 (register by 9/28), December 8 (register by 11/2), February 9 (register by 1/11), April 13 (register by 3/8), June 8 (register by 5/3), July 13 (register by 6/14)

A college representatives will be here from Westminster College and Fontbonne University on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 during seminar. Please sign up using the 2019 Google classroom.

Truman State University


The PSAT is a great way to practice if you plan to take the SAT. The SAT is used by many out of state schools as part of the admission process much like the ACT is used by Missouri State Schools. The PSAT is also how you can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship if you are a junior and receive a qualifying score. This test is voluntary and if you are unsure if you should take it talk to your counselor :)

Who: 11th and 10th graders

Where: Farmington High School

When: Wednesday, October 10, 2018 beginning at 7:45 a.m. (this is an early out day so you will test until about 11:30 a.m. then do lunch)

Cost: $16 (cash or check payable to FHS)

Scholarships: Used by scholarship programs, including the National Merit® Scholarship Program, to look for eligible students.

How to sign up: Sign up with Ms. Hughes in the counseling center by September 14th, 2018.
