Why take college credit classes while in high school?
Practice and Preparation. The “power of 15”---students who leave high school with 15 college credit hours are twice as likely to graduate from a four year university.
Make sure that your student graduates in four years or eight semesters. Most scholarships/financial aid packages are only for eight semesters. 60% of bachelor degree students take six years to earn their four year degree.
Cost: MAC is $58 per credit hour. The University of Missouri is $284
Farmington High School Scholarship---To qualify, students need to earn a composite score 21 on the ACT. For dual credit classes only at FHS for a total of 15 credit hours (15 total hours Fall and Spring Semesters only) qualifying students pay $29 per credit hour.
